Shop Hire for Events

Housmans Bookshop is available to hire for events and book launches. The usual cost of hire is £100 for events starting at 7pm and ending at 9.30pm.

We can accommodate up to 30 people seated – for a book talk or discussion. Or up to 60 people standing for a more sociable event. The room and seating can be arranged to suit the type of event.

Meeting Room Hire

Housmans is also available to hire for private meetings. There are two options:

a) There is a meeting room in the basement of the building, which can comfortably accommodate bewtween 8 to 12 people. The meeting room is available to hire during shop opening hours (10am-6:30pm) at a cost of £35 for up to two hours, £45 for three hours, and £55 for four hours etc.

b) The shop is also available to hire for larger groups (more than 12 people) during the evening at a cost of £55 for two hours. Please note this space is only available after the shop closes at 6.30pm.

Kitchen facilities are available for private meetings.

Hire of the shop and meeting room is generally reserved for groups which share the spirit and ethos of Housmans and Peace News.
